How a Aerospace Components CPQ rollout works

Start with one organization and a set of live quotes your reviewers can check end to end.

  1. Agree the operating boundary

The app runs quoting from draft to order handoff for aerospace components. Production planning, inventory, invoicing and the order itself stay in connected systems. The supplier decides prices, discounts and certificate requirements; Proto prepares configuration and information for review.

  2. Set up organizations and people

Load Organizations, Users and team members, assign the Quote Specialist, Pricing Reviewer, App Administrator, Auditor and Admin roles, and confirm every reviewer is independent of the quotes they will decide.

  3. Map the source data

Load Customers with their eligibility note, then open quotes with their lines, requirements and evidence, using record number, Revision and customer Code as stable keys.

  4. Switch on the workflows

The published pricing, review, handoff, requirement, correction and reconciliation workflows arrive switched off. Turn them on one at a time in a test copy and rehearse each before using it on live quotes.

  5. Configure a bounded pilot

Pilot one Organization, its most active customers and a set of open quotes that run from draft through requirement review, pricing, pricing review and customer acceptance. Reconcile net amount USD, review decisions and operation receipts before expanding.

  6. Connect the order system

Set up the downstream order connection, rehearse a handoff with it and confirm receipts complete only with the order system's confirmation.

What the customer provides

  • Organizations, their codes, time zones and currencies.
  • Customer accounts with contacts, addresses and eligibility conditions.
  • Team members with their roles and the organization they work for.
  • The current price book revision, product codes and expected unit costs.
  • Open quotes with their lines, requirements and supporting documents.
  • The certificate types and evidence types your team uses.

Changing it afterwards

Use Proto to prepare changes on a branch. Review changed fields, affected permissions, workflows and reports with the Pricing Reviewer and App Administrator. Replay the pilot’s exception cases before release. Earlier decisions and receipts keep the revision and price book revision they were made against.
