Correction and reconciliation

Cancel or correct authorized scope and check what each operation receipt claims.

Step by step

  1. Identify the change Quote Specialist

Quote Specialist finds the quote scope that needs to change, such as a draft the customer withdrew or an accepted quote whose lot or part revision has changed.

    • Scope to change identified
    • Updates Quotes, Aerospace requirements
  2. Cancel unexecuted scope Quote Specialist

Quote Specialist cancels draft scope that has not been executed. Nothing already decided or handed off is touched.

    • Draft scope cancelled
    • Updates Quotes, Quote lines
  3. Prepare a compensating action Quote Specialist

For Accepted scope, Quote Specialist prepares a compensating action instead of editing the accepted quote. Existing decisions, files and receipts stay in place.

    • Correction prepared, evidence kept
    • Updates Quotes, Record attachments
  4. Approve the compensating action Pricing Reviewer

Pricing Reviewer approves the compensating action before it runs, with the reason recorded.

    • Correction approved
    • Updates Review decisions, Operation receipts

  5. Reconcile receipts Pricing Reviewer

Pricing Reviewer runs reconciliation on demand or on a schedule. Pending, Failed and needs review receipts are compared with their quote, lines and decisions; each is marked Completed with real evidence or sent to needs review with a concrete discrepancy. External actions are never repeated.

    • Receipts completed or sent to review
    • Updates Operation receipts, Quotes, Quote lines, Review decisions
  6. Audit the result Auditor

Auditor reads the receipts, decisions and attachments to confirm what changed, who approved it and what evidence supports it.

    • Trail confirmed
    • Updates Operation receipts, Review decisions, Record attachments

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Someone deletes an accepted quote line to fix a mistake, and the evidence of what the customer accepted is lost.
  • A compensating action runs without the reviewer's approval.
  • Reconciliation is run but the needs review list has no owner, so discrepancies stay open.
  • A receipt is closed on the strength of a typed external reference with no confirmation.
