Field to Crop Plan

Establish the field and survey evidence before attaching the crop plan and assigning work.

Step by step

  1. Identify the field Farm Manager

Farm Manager checks the field code, name and location before using the plot in a plan. Record its area and availability state so the crew can distinguish Available land from Planted, Fallow or Restricted fields.

    • Field identity and availability support planning
    • Updates Fields
  2. Capture the boundary Field Surveyor

Field Surveyor records the surveyed geometry, date and area against the intended field. Check the field reference and the signed-in person's team identity before the capture is saved.

    • Survey evidence is attached to the correct field
    • Updates Field boundaries, Fields, Team members, Users
  3. Review the area Farm Manager

Farm Manager compares the register area with the survey evidence. Resolve a difference with Field Surveyor before relying on the area in the operating discussion. Keep the surveyed date visible when explaining the comparison.

    • Area differences are resolved for the plan
    • Updates Fields, Field boundaries
  4. Plan the crop cycle Farm Manager

Farm Manager creates the Planned cycle with its crop, variety and field. Record the expected harvest date and agree who will update the stage as work progresses.

    • Crop and variety are linked to the field
    • Updates Crop cycles, Fields
  5. Prepare assigned work Farm Manager

Farm Manager creates the field tasks with the cycle, assigned person and due date. Review the planting plan with the operator before sending the work through approval.

    • Tasks identify the cycle and assigned operator
    • Updates Field tasks, Crop cycles, Team members

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Similar plot names. A familiar name can hide the wrong field reference. Check code and location before capturing a survey or planning a cycle.
  • Unclear area basis. A new survey may differ from the register. Resolve which value the team will use and who updates it.
  • Unlinked operator. A typed person name cannot establish the authenticated team identity needed for execution.
