Readiness and unit release

Submit current crew and equipment evidence for an independent ambulance unit-release decision.

Step by step

  1. Prepare the check Crew Lead

The Crew Lead selects the intended vehicle, transport and organization. Record the checked date, available crew and equipment condition, using OK or Deficient with equipment notes that explain the observed condition.

    • Updates Crew readiness checks, Vehicles, Transports
  2. Submit the current evidence Crew Lead

The Crew Lead moves the prepared check from Draft to Submitted for review. The revision identifies the evidence the Fleet Supervisor is being asked to consider. Resolve a changed vehicle or corrected check through the agreed review process.

    • Move Draft to Submitted for the identified revision
    • Updates Crew readiness checks
  3. Decide unit release Fleet Supervisor

The Fleet Supervisor independently approves or rejects the submitted readiness revision, or records Return when correction is required. Keep the reviewer, source revision and reason linked to the readiness check.

  4. Inspect the release outcome Fleet Supervisor

The Fleet Supervisor checks the result recorded by Release A Ready Ambulance Unit. Compare its operation receipt with the decision and readiness revision before reporting the outcome to the Dispatcher. Completion of approved readiness work remains separate from transport delivery.

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • The vehicle label disagrees with the linked unit. Check the actual vehicle relationship before reviewing the release request.
  • Evidence changes after submission. The reviewer must consider the current check revision under the team's correction process.
  • A receipt is mistaken for transport completion. The release result concerns readiness work; delivery needs its own actual event information.
