Asset to preventive plan

Confirm equipment identity and save the intervals and dates used to prepare preventive work.

Step by step

  1. Identify the equipment Asset Manager

Asset Manager confirms the asset tag, serial number and home location. Maintenance Planner selects that record before preparing the service plan. Resolve similar names against the physical equipment so the plan belongs to the intended asset.

    • Confirm the physical asset and its record
    • Updates Tracked assets
  2. Agree the interval Maintenance Planner

Maintenance Planner records the day-based or hour-based interval used by the equipment's service practice. Review the known last serviced date and intended next due date with the people who maintain the asset.

    • Define the service interval and planning dates
    • Updates Maintenance schedules, Tracked assets
  3. Save the preventive plan Maintenance Planner

Maintenance Planner submits the asset, intervals and dates through the plan-capture action. The action checks the entry before saving. Open the saved plan and confirm that its equipment and service dates match the intended work.

    • Validate and create the linked preventive record
    • Updates Maintenance schedules
  4. Prepare the work Maintenance Planner

Maintenance Planner reviews the saved plan in Scheduled Maintenance and prepares the maintenance ticket needed for the due service. Confirm the asset, Technician and due date before routing the ticket for authorization.

    • Prepare the service request and assignee
    • Updates Maintenance tickets, Tracked assets, Employees

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Similar equipment names. A plan attached to the wrong compressor can look reasonable until the Technician checks the serial number.
  • Unclear units. An hour-based interval needs a consistent usage practice. Agree that meaning before entering the numeric interval.
  • Unreviewed dates. A saved next due date still needs an operating owner who prepares the work and reviews the plan after service.
