Condition to maintenance attention

Capture a usage reading and review the asset flagged when its value reaches the action limit.

Step by step

  1. Identify the observation Technician

Technician confirms the physical asset and selects its record. Enter the reading date, meter type and unit so Maintenance Planner can interpret the value against the correct equipment and operating measure.

    • Confirm the equipment and meter context
    • Updates Tracked assets
  2. Submit the reading Technician

Technician provides the reading and action limit through the condition-reading action. The command validates the request and creates the linked observation. Review the stored result to confirm the intended unit and asset were retained.

    • Retain a validated reading against its asset
    • Updates Asset usage meters, Tracked assets
  3. Evaluate the limit Maintenance Planner

The workflow flags the asset for maintenance when the reading reaches its action limit. Maintenance Planner reviews that condition against the stored observation. The threshold effect is an automatic result of the validated reading, not a separate approval decision.

    • Flag maintenance at the action limit and review the condition
    • Updates Asset usage meters, Tracked assets
  4. Prepare the response Maintenance Planner

Maintenance Planner decides what maintenance work to prepare, referring to the same asset. Bring the request into the normal warranty and authorization process with a Technician and due date appropriate to the work.

    • Prepare the assigned work required for the condition
    • Updates Maintenance tickets, Employees

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Incompatible readings. Hours and cycles have different meanings. Review the meter type and unit before comparing observations.
  • Wrong threshold. A numeric action limit needs an agreed basis in the equipment's service practice.
  • Missing follow-up. A maintenance flag needs a planner to examine the condition and prepare the appropriate work.
