Work to accepted service

Record maintenance activity and accept its inspection before closing the ticket and returning the asset to service.

Step by step

  1. Start authorized work Technician

Technician confirms the ticket and physical asset, then starts the execution action from its eligible state. The process flags the asset for maintenance and brings the ticket into progress. Check the asset identity before recording any work.

    • Start execution and flag maintenance
    • Updates Maintenance tickets, Tracked assets
  2. Record the activity Technician or Parts Coordinator

Technician logs the work performed with its start and end dates against the ticket. Parts Coordinator posts any consumed material through the parts action so the stock effect remains connected to the same job.

    • Retain work evidence and ticket-linked consumption
    • Updates Maintenance logs, Part usage
  3. Bring work to inspection Technician

Technician submits the completed work into Inspection. The Maintenance Approver reviews the work description and related evidence. The handoff should make clear what was done and what the reviewer is being asked to accept.

    • Move completed work to Inspection for review
    • Updates Maintenance tickets, Maintenance logs
  4. Accept the result Maintenance Approver

Maintenance Approver accepts the inspected work through the execution process. The ticket closes, a service certificate is recorded against the ticket and asset, and the asset returns to Active. Maintenance Planner reviews the next preventive date using the accepted history.

    • Close accepted work and return the asset to Active
    • Updates Maintenance tickets, Calibration certificates, Tracked assets
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Unclear work descriptions. A brief note such as “done” leaves the reviewer unable to identify the actual intervention.
  • Premature return to service. Work being recorded is different from the inspection being accepted. Check the state before relying on the equipment's availability.
  • Disconnected history. The certificate must refer to the asset and ticket that supplied the accepted work.
