Collectibles retailers
A specialist collectibles seller can catalog prints, cards or artifacts as named lots with saleable variants. A category groups related material and a collection assembles a themed display. The team records a fixed price on each variant and carries the chosen SKU into the buyer order.
How Auction Platform is set up for you
Catalog owner
Catalog Manager controls the listing, category, variant price and active state before a shopper sees the item.
Order owner
Customer Service Rep follows the purchased lines, payment state and any cancellation or refund request.
Delivery owner
Warehouse Operator uses the warehouse code, variant and shipment status to hand the right item to a carrier.
A specialist collectibles seller can catalog prints, cards or artifacts as named lots with saleable variants. A category groups related material and a collection assembles a themed display. The team records a fixed price on each variant and carries the chosen SKU into the buyer order.
A print buyer chooses a numbered variant from a themed collection. Customer Service Rep checks the saved SKU and paid amount on the order, while Warehouse Operator compares that SKU with stock before packing. If the parcel is damaged, the refund request stays linked to the original sale and records the reason, amount and decision.
Begin with one catalog, one category tree and a limited set of stocked variants. Rehearse a buyer selecting an item, paying through a connected provider and receiving a tracked parcel.
During setup, agree who can mark a listing active, approve a refund and adjust stock. Keep payment acquiring, carrier services and real email delivery attached as configured connections. Rehearse one ordinary sale and one exception before increasing catalog volume. The [implementation plan](/auction-platform/implementation) gives a sequence for that pilot.
Features to start with
Roles on the team
- Warehouse Operator
- Floor worker. Picks, packs, prints labels, marks shipments and handles RMA intake, with physical inventory adjustment. Order read is restricted to shipping data; payments, refunds, pricing and customer accounts are out of scope.
- Customer Service Rep
- Front line for shopper support: order lookups, address edits pre-ship, cancellations, notes, refunds and RM as within ceiling, and review moderation. Card data masked; cost and margin masked.
- Catalog Manager
- Merchandising lead. Owns product authoring, category taxonomy, collection curation, SEO metadata, imagery and copy. Read-only on inventory, orders and reviews (can flag, cannot finalise moderation).
- Merchant Owner
- Founder / Head of E-commerce. Owns the online P&L, merchandising, pricing and promotional posture. Full read on every table, record entry on catalog, pricing, promotion and payment configuration, and approve refunds above threshold.
