The tables behind Automated Storage (AS/RS)

Automated Storage (AS/RS) ships with 17 tables, grouped here by the feature that uses them. Every record your team works with lives in one of them, and you can add fields and tables in Proto.

How the model is organised

Storage Locations and Items

Organizations owns storage locations and team members. Stock items holds SKU, base unit, tracking mode, unit cost, reorder point and safety stock. Team members.User references Users.

Induction and Handling Units

Induction slots connects inbound transfers to storage locations with Sequence and slot at. Handling units links Item and Location and records tote code, custody owner, Quantity and Status.

Stock Requests

Stock requests references Organization, Owner, Item, Location and Counterparty. Both Location and Counterparty reference storage locations; requested units and Revision define the proposed scope.

Lots and Reservations

Stock lots connects Item and storage location. Stock reservations references Lot and Request with Quantity, expires at, Revision and Status. Storage policies carries Organization, Channel, Priority, safety stock units and effective from.

Robot Tasks

Robot tasks references Parent and Organization. Device reference, requested at, requested units and controller event ID describe the task context alongside Status and Revision.

Stock Movements

Stock movements references Parent, Item, Lot, Location, Organization and Owner. Signed quantity records the effect; source effect key identifies it; Reverses links compensation to the original movement.

Review and Reconciliation

Review decisions, operation receipts and record attachments reference their parent stock requests and Organization. Decisions retain source revision; receipts retain operation key and failure reason.

Keys and references

Use actual reference identifiers when importing related records. SKU, tote code and location Code help people identify stock but do not replace the stored reference. Resolve the current user through team members.User before filtering stock requests.Owner.

Follow stock lots.storage location and handling units.Location to establish location context. Load access must be agreed alongside the locations referenced by induction slots; shared item definitions need an explicit access policy. Review decisions.Parent points to stock requests, so robot-task creator and decision authority must be checked through the guarded task action’s identity context.

Preserve the Users.User self-reference and resolve its platform identity behavior during setup. Keep the original stock movements record immutable during reversal; the compensating record carries Reverses. Distinguish item unit cost from movement unit cost USD when agreeing imports and reporting.

Migration order

  1. Organizations and users. Establish Organizations, platform Users and team members with verified identity references.
  2. Items and locations. Import stock items and storage locations, checking base units, tracking choices and eligibility.
  3. Loads and handling units. Import inbound transfers, then induction slots and handling units with resolved location and item references.
  4. Lots and policies. Import stock lots under their items and locations; establish storage policies under their organizations.
  5. Requests and child work. Link stock requests, then stock reservations and robot tasks to the correct request and stock context.
  6. Historical evidence. Preserve genuine stock movements, review decisions, record attachments and operation receipts with original keys and reversal references. Do not replay an imported posting as a new physical effect.
