Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • A timesheet may include an unreviewed overtime entry. Keep it out of the approved input set until its decision is recorded.
  • Leave can cross a pay-period boundary. Check the approved dates against the run period and balance as of the relevant date.
  • A pay statement total without its line detail is hard to reconcile. Compare totals before approving the run.
  • A posted run should be corrected through a separate correction path rather than changing the earlier record silently.
