How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Bin / Location Management for your business. Start with a familiar item, labeled storage locations and a reconciled lot balance. Have an Inventory Clerk and Inventory Supervisor rehearse a slotting decision, stock reservation and approved posting.

What kinds of locations can I record?

Record warehouses, bins, yards or cold rooms with a name, code, contact and eligibility note under the operating organization. Agree the level of detail and coding convention before assigning opening stock.

How does a slotting plan help with capacity?

The plan records the zone, planned date, capacity and required cubic feet alongside allocation policy. Inventory Supervisor reviews the submitted proposal. Agree the measurement basis and consider overlapping plans for the same zone before committing space.

Who decides a submitted slotting plan?

Inventory Supervisor approves or rejects the submitted revision through the slotting action. The person who created the plan cannot decide it. Each transition increases the plan revision so a stale action is refused.

How is available stock different from on hand?

Availability takes eligibility and existing holds into account. The reservation action subtracts active Held reservations from the eligible lot’s on-hand quantity before accepting another commitment.

What happens when a reservation exceeds free stock?

The action refuses the excess quantity and records a failed receipt with the shortfall. Inventory Clerk can inspect that reason and the existing commitments before deciding the next request.

What changes the stock balance?

Executing an approved stock request posts a signed movement and applies it to the lot balance. The request becomes Executed and a recorded receipt identifies the operation. Inspect that evidence when checking the result.

Can a movement be reversed?

Inventory Supervisor uses the reversal action to create a compensating movement linked to the original. The lot balance is corrected while the original posting remains available for review. Repeating the reversal returns the existing compensation.

What happens when verification finds a mismatch?

Reconciliation compares posted movements with the authorized request quantity. A mismatch creates a failed receipt and leaves the request unchanged so the supervisor can investigate the discrepancy.

How do load and handling records relate to stock work?

They record physical context such as custody, dock details and appointment sequence. Stock requests and posted movements supply the quantity-effect evidence. Agree how staff coordinate these records or connect their scanning and carrier systems during setup.
