Systems to connect

  • Order or production systems. Agree how upstream demand supplies request context, item identity and base-unit quantities. Keep the source reference understandable in the request subject or linked document.
  • Scanning devices. If staff use scanners to identify items, bins or handling units, configure the connection to the correct record identities. Rehearse an uncertain response and repeated scan before allowing a device to request stock effects.
  • Carrier and dock systems. Agree how carrier details and appointment information enter load and stop records. Inspect the saved location and sequence before staff act on an imported appointment.
  • Document and quality systems. Link the inspection evidence, certificates or manifests needed for a stock decision. Keep document access consistent with the operating organization’s permissions.
  • Financial systems. Agree any export of verified movement evidence and its cost basis separately. Preserve the source effect identity when exchanging a stock posting with another system.

How connections are governed

Name an owner for each connection and agree its permitted actions. Use the supported stock actions for posting, reservation and reversal so a repeat message can find its existing result. A physical handling update must be reconciled with the stock posting that changes the lot balance.

Test quantity units, location mapping and organization scope on a pilot request. Inspect failure receipts and retain the original effect when correcting an operation. Define the response that confirms a connected system has accepted the intended result; a sent message alone does not establish its downstream outcome.
