Post stock and verify the quantity

Execute approved scope once, inspect the signed movement and reconcile it with the request.

Step by step

  1. Check approved scope Inventory Clerk

Inventory Clerk identifies the approved request revision and the selected item, location and lot. Confirm the quantity and sign convention for the stock action being performed.

    • Confirm authorized quantity and context
    • Updates Stock requests, Stock lots, Review decisions
  2. Execute the request Inventory Clerk

Inventory Clerk runs the approved posting action. It creates a Posted movement, applies the signed quantity to the lot balance and moves the request from Approved to Executed with a recorded receipt.

    • Post signed quantity and mark request Executed
    • Updates Stock movements, Stock lots, Stock requests, Operation receipts
  3. Inspect the saved effect Inventory Clerk

Inventory Clerk compares the movement with the before-and-after lot balance. The stable source effect identity lets a repeated execution return the saved outcome without applying the quantity again.

    • Compare movement and balance change
    • Updates Stock movements, Stock lots, Operation receipts
  4. Run verification Inventory Supervisor

Inventory Supervisor reconciles the authorized request quantity with the posted movements. Matching evidence supports verification; a mismatch writes a Failed receipt and leaves the request unchanged.

    • Verify matching quantity or record failure
    • Updates Stock requests, Stock movements, Operation receipts
  5. Trace the result Auditor

Auditor follows the request through its decision, movement and operation receipts. Investigate a failed verification before treating the quantity as reconciled.

    • Read the complete evidence chain
    • Updates Review decisions, Stock movements, Operation receipts

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Wrong sign convention. Agree how the selected action represents receipt or issue before it affects a lot balance.
  • Repeated execution. A retry must find the existing effect. Inspect the movement identity and balance rather than submit a new request for the same work.
  • Unexplained discrepancy. A failed verification needs investigation against the authorized quantity and actual posted effects.
