How a Blood Donation Management rollout works

Configure the team, migrate a focused donor set and rehearse the collection handoffs before release.

  1. Agree the operating scope

Choose the collection service and donor cohort for the pilot. Name the Clinical Coordinator, Licensed Clinician, Clinical Reviewer and Clinical Governance Administrator responsible for its handoffs.

  2. Prepare identities and access

Connect team members to their user accounts. Review privilege evidence and donor assignment periods. Agree Admin responsibilities for account setup and payment maintenance.

  3. Prepare donor evidence

Confirm donor codes and identifying details, record current consent and attach the relevant signed documents. Resolve ambiguous identities before scheduling collections.

  4. Configure working views

Set up the collection schedule, unit processing board, review queue and assigned follow-up views. Resolve each signed-in person's team member identity and rehearse what they can read and change.

  5. Rehearse an operating cycle

Run a scheduled collection through arrival, actual collection, laboratory entry and review. Include a rejected unit, a cancelled visit and an unresolved question that stays in review.

  6. Review and release the pilot

Have each responsible person explain a completed case and an exception from its records. Confirm any laboratory or financial connection with its owner before using it for the pilot. Expand the scope after the team resolves the rehearsal findings.

What the customer provides

Prepare donor identity records, current consent documents, staff user identities and professional verification evidence. Supply the clinical procedures used to assess collections and interpret results. Agree component names, laboratory measurement units, service descriptions and the operating currency used for financial entries. Name the people who own external laboratory, accounting and payment handoffs.

Changing it afterwards

Use Proto to adjust the agreed configuration as the team learns from the pilot. Rehearse changes to access, review responsibilities or record links with the affected people before releasing them. Keep the donor-to-donation relationship understandable during migrations, and review outstanding actions when responsibility moves to another team member. The data model identifies the references to preserve.
