The Licensed Clinician records the unit number, component type and donation. Check the collection link while the people who handled the donation can resolve an ambiguous identifier.

The Licensed Clinician records Collected and then Received as the corresponding work is completed. Keep the collection date with the unit so the reviewer can place the processing record in context.

The Licensed Clinician records the donation, test type, numeric value, measurement unit, test date and authorizing team member. Use the terminology agreed with the clinical team and any connected laboratory service.

Record the processing outcome Licensed Clinician

The Licensed Clinician records Tested or Rejected according to the responsible clinical decision. The Clinical Reviewer examines the supporting evidence in the collection review. The clinical team owns the interpretation and disposition criteria.

And how to keep it from happening.

A unit attached to the wrong donation sends the reviewer to unrelated evidence. Check the record number and donation together at receipt.
A numeric result without a clear measurement unit can be misread. Use the agreed laboratory terminology and review the original result when needed.
A recorded processing change can reach the reviewer before its supporting entry. Prepare both parts of the handoff before asking for the collection decision.
