Review Project Delivery

Bring defect position, checkpoints and risk evidence into the decision to accept work-package scope.

Step by step

  1. Review the current position Project Manager

Project Manager examines active projects, corrective tasks and open defects. Operations Overview provides authorized lifecycle counts, project effort comparisons, overdue tasks by owner and a due-date-ranked work queue. Use those results to identify the records requiring discussion.

    • Identify delivery work requiring attention
    • Updates Projects, Work packages, Tasks, Defect reports, Operation receipts
  2. Assess checkpoints Project Manager

Project Manager reads each milestone's due date and notes before marking it Met or Missed. Confirm the actual checkpoint result. A task reaching Done or a defect becoming Verified does not automatically establish that the broader milestone was achieved.

    • Record Pending to Met or Missed from the actual result
    • Updates Milestones, Projects
  3. Review delivery risks Project Manager

Project Manager and Delivery Lead assess open concerns, their owners and mitigation. Delivery Lead recommends any staffing or scope response. Project Manager confirms probability and impact using the team's definitions and records the assessment that supports moving a risk into Monitoring, Mitigated or Closed.

    • Record the risk assessment after discussion with Delivery Lead
    • Updates Risks, Projects, Team members
  4. Accept completed scope Project Manager

Project Manager reviews the package's agreed work and supporting verification evidence, then records approval of the actual work-package subject. A rejection or return must explain what remains unresolved. Accept the scope before marking the package Done.

    • Approve the actual package subject before completion
    • Updates Review decisions, Work packages, Tasks, Defect reports
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.
  5. Confirm project completion Project Manager

Project Manager checks the remaining project scope and evidence before moving the project to Completed. Retain unresolved concerns and failed-operation history for follow-up. Completion of an individual package does not automatically finish the entire project.

    • Complete the project after agreed scope is accepted
    • Updates Projects, Work packages, Milestones, Risks, Review decisions

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • A reported project total disagrees with the underlying tasks. Trace the references and calculation before accepting the summary.
  • A late checkpoint is marked Met because the defect was eventually fixed. Record the actual milestone result and its explanation.
  • A risk is closed without reassessing its wider delivery effect. Ask the owner to explain the mitigation outcome.
  • A review decision references a different package. Resolve the subject identifier before accepting the work.
