Request to meal service

Confirm an eligible meal booking after capacity and interval checks, then record the diners entering service.

Step by step

  1. Prepare the booking Property Manager

The Property Manager selects the diner and dining area, then records service dates, diner count and the rate per meal. Check the area type and dated rate plan before relying on the commercial amount.

    • Record Requested service scope and commercial basis
    • Updates Meal bookings, Diners, Dining areas, Rate plans
  2. Check eligible space Property Manager

The Property Manager requests confirmation for the current booking. The action validates the acting staff member and source identity, locks the dining area and rechecks the service interval against overlapping bookings and seating capacity.

    • Validate actor, current request, interval and capacity
    • Updates Meal bookings, Dining areas, Team members, Users
  3. Confirm the request Property Manager

Eligible work moves from Requested to Confirmed. A repeated request with the same operation identity and input returns the saved result; it must not create another booking or overwrite a changed request.

    • Move Requested to Confirmed after locked recheck
    • Updates Meal bookings, Dining areas
  4. Seat the diners Front Desk Agent

The Front Desk Agent uses the authorized seating action. The booking moves to Checked in and the area becomes Occupied. Authorized draft meal charges and open service tasks are linked to the booking; payment confirmation remains a separate action.

    • Record checked in service and Occupied dining area
    • Updates Meal bookings, Dining areas, Meal charges, Service tasks

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • A changed diner count exceeds capacity. Recheck the actual group size before confirming the request.
  • Two requests compete for the same area. The locked overlap check must protect the final confirmation, including concurrent requests.
  • A repeated click becomes new work. Retain the operation identity and inspect the original result before accepting another effect.
