Calibration workflows for internal calibration laboratories.
Calibration Management supports an internal laboratory responsible for instruments across several departments. Its focus is the evidence and decision path around calibration work: approved procedures, qualified assignments, reference suitability, original observations, certificate review and controlled return. The laboratory retains control of its technical methods, staff qualifications and accreditation responsibilities.
Keep approved procedure and decision-rule revisions attached to the job. A later method change should not silently alter the evidence basis of previously reviewed work.
Record which standard and certificate version supported a measurement at its actual time of use. Review the scope for the measurement being performed instead of treating current availability as proof of suitability for every range.
Preserve as-found readings before adjustment and add as-left results when required. Corrections append linked records with reasons, keeping original values available to the independent reviewer.
Metrology Reviewer checks the evidence without approving their own preparation or execution. A correctly documented failure may be accepted as a report while the instrument remains on hold.
Calibration Schedule and My Calibration Work distinguish scheduled downtime, active measurement and submitted evidence. Certificate Review Backlog shows the work still waiting for a technical decision.
Same records, same gates. The configuration changes how the process runs for this team.

Follow an instrument from its approved method and due date through original measurements, certificate review and release history. When a result raises a concern, connect the investigation to earlier use records and the quality decisions that follow.
Related questionCertificate acceptance records the Metrology Reviewer’s assessment of the evidence. A correctly reported failure can be accepted while the instrument remains held. Quality Manager release is a separate decision against the current evidence and every unresolved restriction.
Related questionBring external laboratory certificates into the same review process as internal work. Keep the provider, service scope and original evidence together, with file or portal connections configured for your laboratory.
Related questionThe coordinator proposes an interval with evidence, and the independent Metrology Reviewer approves it. There is no universal default claimed as a NIST requirement. Changes apply prospectively and retain previous obligations.
Related questionThe instrument remains restricted and the quality team assesses potentially affected historical use. A later satisfactory result does not close that investigation by itself. Missing use history must receive explicit treatment.
Related questionCorrections append a linked record with a reason and preserve the original observation. Submitted evidence and accepted certificate files cannot be silently overwritten. A revised certificate may require dependent decisions to be reviewed again.
Related questionYour qualified reviewers select the applicable methods, assess measurement evidence and authorise release. Calibration Management keeps those decisions connected to their supporting records. Laboratory accreditation and regulatory obligations remain with your organisation and its service providers.
Related questionAn assistant can prepare evidence for review. It cannot bypass the independent Quality Manager decision, make up missing evidence or use administrative access as approval authority.
