Calibration workflows for manufacturing inspection.
The calibration package fits manufacturers that use shared gauges and instruments for receiving, in-process or final inspection. The key connection is between the instrument used, the measurement range and the lot, serial or job whose inspection relied on it. That connection helps quality staff investigate a later concern without assuming that every product measured during the period is defective.
Assign a responsible Instrument Custodian even when equipment moves between shifts or workstations. Record location changes without replacing the instrument identity or losing earlier calibration evidence.
Retain the owning inspection system and its stable record key. Imported events preserve actual use times so delayed synchronization does not shift a questionable measurement outside the investigation window.
Calibration Coordinator schedules expected downtime and identifies overdue work. A production deadline does not extend the calibration obligation; the operating team arranges a suitable alternative or reschedules dependent work.
Quality Manager reviews the affected inspection population, retest evidence and any external quality cases. Product disposition remains governed by the manufacturing quality process, with acknowledgement tracked when a case is handed off.
Metrology Reviewer accepts the technical evidence. Quality Manager separately releases the relevant hold. A remaining damage restriction or unresolved impact requirement continues to prevent availability.
Same records, same gates. The configuration changes how the process runs for this team.

Related questionFollow an instrument from its approved method and due date through original measurements, certificate review and release history. When a result raises a concern, connect the investigation to earlier use records and the quality decisions that follow.
Related questionCertificate acceptance records the Metrology Reviewer’s assessment of the evidence. A correctly reported failure can be accepted while the instrument remains held. Quality Manager release is a separate decision against the current evidence and every unresolved restriction.
Related questionBring external laboratory certificates into the same review process as internal work. Keep the provider, service scope and original evidence together, with file or portal connections configured for your laboratory.
Related questionThe coordinator proposes an interval with evidence, and the independent Metrology Reviewer approves it. There is no universal default claimed as a NIST requirement. Changes apply prospectively and retain previous obligations.
Related questionCorrections append a linked record with a reason and preserve the original observation. Submitted evidence and accepted certificate files cannot be silently overwritten. A revised certificate may require dependent decisions to be reviewed again.
Related questionYour qualified reviewers select the applicable methods, assess measurement evidence and authorise release. Calibration Management keeps those decisions connected to their supporting records. Laboratory accreditation and regulatory obligations remain with your organisation and its service providers.
Related questionAn assistant can prepare evidence for review. It cannot bypass the independent Quality Manager decision, make up missing evidence or use administrative access as approval authority.
Related questionThe assessment identifies potentially affected use and records its disposition or escalation. Product withdrawal, customer notification and recall execution remain in the customer’s authorized quality process. The calibration app tracks evidence and acknowledgements.
