Multibuilding campus
A dispersed campus needs a common way to identify assets and hand off work. A location alone may be ambiguous when several buildings have similar equipment. The asset tag, serial number and work order make each intervention traceable from request through permit, technician record and accepted service.
How Campus Facility Management is set up for you
Building coverage
Use a shared location convention in the asset register so people can find equipment in the field.
Daily queue
Review open work and the status board to distinguish requests, scheduled jobs, active work and inspection.
Local observations
Capture meter readings with their unit and action limit against the correct asset.
Stock trace
Record material against the work order and check the remaining quantity at its reorder point.
A dispersed campus needs a common way to identify assets and hand off work. A location alone may be ambiguous when several buildings have similar equipment. The asset tag, serial number and work order make each intervention traceable from request through permit, technician record and accepted service.
Choose a small set of buildings with maintenance staff who can verify their asset tags and part numbers. Enter active equipment first, including location and serial number where available. Set up the People directory so the assigned person, permit issuer and work log technician can each be identified. Agree the meaning of due dates and the process for moving a request into scheduled work.
Pick one job that needs a permit and one that uses a stocked part. For the permit job, test both a current approved permit and one tied to a different order. The manager should only be able to schedule the correctly authorized task. For the part job, post usage once, check the on-hand balance and review the reorder flag.
After inspection, use the closed work list and service history to confirm that the completed outcome stays with the intended unit. Then compare the open queue across the selected buildings. Expand the register once another manager can read the work descriptions and locate the equipment without depending on the person who entered the initial data.
