Specialty practice
A specialty practice often needs the reviewer to understand both the visit and who was authorized to do the clinical work. The clinician's privilege record holds type, evidence, status and effective dates. The patient encounter names the working clinician; a prescription order names the prescriber separately. The Clinical Lead checks the relevant evidence as part of the local review process.

The clinician's privilege record holds type, evidence, status and effective dates. The patient encounter names the working clinician; a prescription order names the prescriber separately. Start with one specialty service and its actual privilege types. Agree who verifies a license and which evidence is retained. Work a test case in which the prescriber has a Verified privilege and a second case in which a privilege is Pending. Make the difference visible to the people signing orders. Record a Draft order, review the medication and dose instruction, then sign or cancel it. If the practice sends prescriptions to a pharmacy service, define that connection separately from the clinic-side signed order. Confirm that the Clinical Lead can trace every order to its encounter and prescriber. Repeat the handoff after a clinician change and check the new prescriber's privilege dates. Ask the reviewer to inspect the note and visit reason before the encounter moves to Completed.
