Keys and references

Patient references join encounters, consent, tasks, assignments, and payments to Patients. Encounter references join clinical evidence, specimens, dispensations, and charges to Encounters. People references identify clinicians, authors, recorders, task assignees, and dispensation authorizers. The People user link supports personal work views. Keep patient number, accession number, payment reference, and charge identity distinct: they identify different parts of the work.

Migration order

  1. Users and People. Confirm user links and staff identities.
  2. Patients. Bring in patient numbers, names, and assigned clinicians.
  3. Governance records. Load care-team assignments, consent, and clinician privileges with dates and evidence.
  4. Encounters. Link each care episode to its patient and clinician.
  5. Care evidence. Attach notes, observations, specimens, and dispensations to the right encounter.
  6. Follow-up and finance. Add patient tasks, encounter charges, and patient payments after checking their references.
