Outpatient clinic
An outpatient clinic coordinates many short care episodes. The Clinical Coordinator schedules each patient with a clinician and records the encounter's arrival, start and end. Clinicians add notes and observations to that visit, while reviewers can inspect the evidence before the coordinator completes the operational record.
How Clinical Trial Management is set up for you
Daily schedule
Use the encounter's patient, clinician, visit type and scheduled time to keep the day legible.
Documented care
Keep signed notes and measured observations with the visit rather than in a loose shared folder.
Patient consent
Check the purpose, version, signature and expiry before an activity depends on it.
Next action
Assign a dated care task to a named person and record its completion or escalation.
An outpatient clinic coordinates many short care episodes. The Clinical Coordinator schedules each patient with a clinician and records the encounter's arrival, start and end. Clinicians add notes and observations to that visit, while reviewers can inspect the evidence before the coordinator completes the operational record.
Start with a representative clinic day. Confirm the patient number for a returning person, schedule a visit and record arrival. The clinician enters a note and observation; the coordinator places the encounter in review. Ask the Clinical Reviewer to read the visit and check that the patient, clinician, consent and evidence belong together. Complete the encounter with an end time, then assign any follow-up task.
Agree who corrects a patient identity error and when a cancelled encounter is kept as cancelled. If the clinic invoices through another system, define the handoff for service charges and patient payment references. The [Follow-up and Charges](/clinical-trial-management/modules/follow-up-and-charges) module keeps those operational records connected to the patient and visit.
