What you can do
Review in the working cycle
The Academic Reviewer records a decision against an exact enrollment revision. The decision can be Pending, Approved, Returned or Rejected, with a reason, date and evidence reference. Reviewer assignment is separate from the enrollment owner, preserving a clear handoff between preparation and decision.
A submitted case may have all requirements accepted but a document whose source is unclear. The reviewer returns the revision with a reason. The Instructor addresses the issue, and the corrected case returns for another decision. On approval, the accepted revision can proceed to the decided status.
How the work is organized
- Open the revision. Academic Reviewer checks the course, requirements and evidence for the specified source revision.
- Record a decision. The decision holds the reviewer, outcome, date, reason and evidence reference.
- Return clear work. A returned decision gives the Instructor a reason to address before another review.
What to agree during setup
Agree what evidence is sufficient for each decision, who can serve as an independent reviewer, and what a useful return reason contains. A reviewer should inspect the exact revision and linked evidence before deciding, especially after a correction.
Agree how the Academic Reviewer is assigned independently from the preparer and which evidence is enough for approval. A returned or rejected decision needs a reason that the Instructor can act on. The reviewer should compare the decision revision with the current enrollment revision.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Rehearse an approved case and a returned case. Confirm that the reviewer differs from the preparer, that the decision names its source revision, and that the Instructor sees the reason for a return before resubmitting.
Use a case with an accepted requirement and an unclear document. The reviewer returns the exact revision with a reason. The Instructor updates the evidence and assigns any needed follow-up. On the next decision, the reviewer should be able to distinguish the corrected revision from the earlier return.
Approval belongs to the Academic Reviewer, who can edit the decision record while reading the prepared case. Before approving, compare the source revision on the decision with the enrollment revision and confirm that the requirements and evidence refer to that enrollment. A return asks the Instructor for specific work; a rejection records a different outcome. Keep the reason and evidence reference on the decision so the next reader can understand it. A corrected case comes back for a separate decision against its new revision, with the earlier decision retained for context.
