• Patient identity source. Agree how patient numbers and household contact details enter the care record if another system owns them.
• Laboratory. Choose how receipt, accession and processing outcomes reach the specimen record when a lab handles the sample.
• Pharmacy. Agree how medication, lot, quantity and authorizing person are reconciled with a dispensing system.
• Accounting. Decide whether visit charges and household payments need to be exchanged with invoicing or payment software.

Give each external handoff an owner. Define which system supplies the authoritative value, how staff identify a failed exchange and who may correct it. Rehearse one real visit and its linked records before extending a connection to the full program. Test patient access against the role permissions and record care assignments separately.
