Keys and references
Use stable organization and client codes. Keep the matter record number stable across imports. A resolution links to both the matter and organization; check that those entities agree. Conflict findings and review decisions link to the matter, while review decisions also identify the source revision and linked reviewer. A production links to the exact legal document and matter.
Store operation keys and expected revisions with their receipts so a repeated action can be reconciled. Preserve document content hashes and production hashes when importing file history. Do not replace earlier decisions or receipt outcomes when a later attempt or revision is added.
Migration order
- Load Organizations and Users, then team members and Clients with stable codes and links.
- Load Matters with their owner, organization, counterparty and original status.
- Load board resolutions, conflict reviews, review decisions, matter deadlines and matter events against the correct matters.
- Load legal documents, record attachments and document productions, preserving revisions, hashes and recipient references.
- Load operation receipts with original operation keys and reconcile open exceptions before daily use.
