Consultation-led practice
A consultation-led cosmetic surgery practice needs to know who is booked, what consent is on file and who will document the visit. The patient record anchors the case, while each consultation carries its own planned time, clinician, visit type and state. Operations Overview helps staff scan intake and current operational state before the day starts.
How Cosmetic Surgery Practice is set up for you
Prepare the patient
The Clinical Coordinator records a patient number, contact phone and assigned clinician, then checks the patient's consent state.
Check the purpose
A consent record carries the purpose, version, signed document and status. A signed document for one purpose should be reviewed in the context of that planned visit.
Run the visit
The coordinator records arrival; the Licensed Clinician documents notes and observations against the consultation.
Review the handoff
An awaiting review visit stays distinct from Completed, giving the team a clear place to check the evidence.
A consultation-led cosmetic surgery practice needs to know who is booked, what consent is on file and who will document the visit. The patient record anchors the case, while each consultation carries its own planned time, clinician, visit type and state. Operations Overview helps staff scan intake and current operational state before the day starts.
Start with one visit type used by the practice, a small set of patients and the clinicians who will see them. Enter an initial consultation and walk it from Scheduled to Arrived and in progress. Ask the clinician to record a note with author and signed date and an observation with value and unit. Move the visit to awaiting review and have the reviewer inspect it. The coordinator can then record the end time and completion.
Before using the system for a full clinic day, agree patient numbering, visit type wording, note types and the timing of consent checks. Rehearse a patient who withdraws consent and a consultation that is cancelled. Those cases should remain easy to find in the patient and visit lists. The [consultation module](/cosmetic-surgery-practice/modules/consultations-and-visits) and [intake process](/cosmetic-surgery-practice/processes/intake-and-consent) provide the operating details.
