What you can do

Give the reviewer a complete furniture quote

A room request becomes a commercial commitment only after the selling scope is clear. The Quote Specialist starts with an eligible customer, an operating organization and an assigned owner. The quote subject explains the project, while the validity date sets the window for the customer’s decision. Each product line belongs to that quote and carries its own quantity, price and discount.

Consider a conference room with twelve chairs. At a unit price of $250 and a line discount of $300, the chair line totals $2,700. The discount is deducted from the extended line amount. It is not repeated for every chair. The same calculation applies to the remaining furniture lines before the quote total moves into review.

How the work is organized

  • Own the draft. The Quote Specialist checks the customer, organization and owner before entering furniture lines. The quote number gives the team a stable way to discuss the work, while the revision identifies the version being priced.
  • Price the actual lines. Enter the product code, quantity, USD selling price, discount and cost. The pricing action validates the draft and the price book reference, calculates each net line amount and totals the parent quote.
  • Submit an accountable revision. A successfully priced quote moves from Draft to Review. The Pricing Reviewer receives the revision that was calculated, with the supporting attachments available under their visibility settings.

What to agree during setup

Agree who supplies product codes and the price book revision used on each quote. Prices on this quote are expressed in USD. If your source price list uses another currency, agree the upstream conversion procedure and how the team checks the effective rate before entering the selling price. Keep the source of that decision available to the reviewer.

Also agree what evidence the reviewer expects for a room package. A finish schedule can support the quote, while a commercial note can explain a discount. Mark each attachment Internal or Shared according to its audience. The person preparing the quote should know which documents may accompany the customer discussion.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Rehearse the conference room quote with a Quote Specialist and a separate Pricing Reviewer. Confirm the chair calculation, then change a quantity before sending another pricing request. The request must use the current revision. A request based on an earlier revision should fail without replacing the current amounts or advancing the quote.

Next, let the quote reach Review and inspect its validity date. The reviewer should be able to trace the total to the furniture lines and explain the discount. If the customer changes the room requirement, resolve the correction before accepting the quote. Approval for an earlier revision cannot stand in for a decision on changed scope.

What your team sees

  • Draft Quotes — Quotes being prepared or waiting for review, with their owners and quoted values.
  • My Quotes — The Quote Specialist’s assigned work, including validity dates and current revisions.
  • Quotes at Validity Limit — Quotes whose date needs attention before a customer acceptance is recorded.
