What you can do
Review a defined commercial offer
The Quote Specialist prepares the line quantities, unit prices and discounts for the intended quote revision. Pricing uses quantity multiplied by the unit price in USD, then subtracts the line discount in USD. The line net values make up the quote’s net USD amount. The Pricing Reviewer examines that prepared offer with its price book reference and supporting evidence.
A review decision identifies the quote and source revision, records the reviewer and retains a reason. This gives later readers a way to understand which offer received the decision. Keep the validity date in view during review, especially when a customer requests changes close to the end of the offer period.
How the work is organized
- Line arithmetic. The specialist checks every line value and the revision it belongs to. Treat the discount as a line amount in USD when applying the stated calculation.
- Independent decision. The Pricing Reviewer examines the eligible revision and chooses Approve, Reject or Return. The reason should explain the commercial judgment or the work needed before another review.
- Operation result. The receipt retains the expected revision and outcome of the action. Compare it with the quote and decision when an attempted review produces an uncertain result.
What to agree during setup
Agree the source of the unit prices and how the price book revision is identified. Define how discounts and unit costs will be checked, including the treatment of invalid or negative values. Rehearse the calculation with an ordinary quote and a line that needs correction before allowing the pricing procedure to move the offer into Review.
Configure reviewer authority and the independence check against the quote owner. Decide how Return sends work back for correction and how the next revision becomes eligible for review. Test stale-revision rejection so a reviewer cannot approve an offer that has changed since it was opened. Agree how the validity date is evaluated before approval and acceptance.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Use an illustrative cabinet line with quantity two, a unit price of USD 10,000 and a line discount of USD 500. Its expected net is USD 19,500. Add installation support at USD 2,000 with no discount; the expected quote net is USD 21,500. The Quote Specialist checks those results against the intended revision before requesting review.
Have the Pricing Reviewer open the supporting rack evidence and record a reasoned decision. Then rehearse a changed quantity after the reviewer has opened the earlier revision. The configured review procedure should require the current revision before accepting a decision. Inspect the decision’s source revision and operation result together, and practice a Return where the price book reference needs clarification.
