Quote preparation and pricing

Prepare customer scope and draft lines, validate the pricing request and bring calculated USD amounts to review.

Step by step

  1. Confirm customer scope App Administrator or Quote Specialist

    • Select eligible customer and quote ownership
    • Updates Organizations, Customers, Team members, Quotes
  2. Prepare the draft Quote Specialist

Quote Specialist records the offer subject, validity date and price book revision. Add product codes, quantities, unit prices, line discounts and costs. Keep the offer in Draft while the commercial inputs are being checked.

    • Record commercial inputs and evidence
    • Updates Quotes, Quote lines, Record attachments
  3. Check option compatibility Quote Specialist

Quote Specialist follows the compatibility process for controller-dependent options before price commitment. Use the technical decision and its evidence to support the proposed equipment scope.

    • Follow the required technical decision
    • Updates Automation nodes, Quotes, Operation receipts
  4. Run pricing Quote Specialist

Quote Specialist requests pricing with the expected Draft quote revision. The action validates organization scope, state, price book revision and line values. It multiplies quantity by unit price, subtracts the discount and sums the resulting net lines into the quote amount.

    • Calculate net lines and quote total for the expected revision
    • Updates Quotes, Quote lines, Operation receipts
  5. Hand the offer to review Quote Specialist

Successful pricing moves the quote from Draft to Review. Pricing Reviewer receives the current revision with its calculated amount and supporting lines. Commercial approval follows in the decision process.

    • Move the priced Draft offer to Review
    • Updates Quotes, Quote lines

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Ambiguous discount basis. The line discount is an amount in USD. Agree that interpretation before importing commercial values.
  • Stale pricing request. Reopen the current quote revision after another change. Request pricing against the revision the specialist actually reviewed.
  • Different currency assumptions. Quote line economics use USD. Agree any customer-document conversion and effective exchange-rate source during setup.
