How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure CPQ for Industrial Machinery for your business. Start with one selling organization, a familiar customer and a machine quote with a priced option. Assign Quote Specialist and an independent Pricing Reviewer, then rehearse acceptance and the order connection.

What machine details does the team record?

The configuration records power supply, cycle rate, safety option and required date against the quote. Quote Specialist adds the supporting information the reviewer needs, then submits the configuration revision for an independent decision.

How is the quote total calculated?

Pricing multiplies the line quantity by its USD unit price and subtracts the USD line discount. It writes the net USD line value and sums the quote total. Check the discount convention and price inputs with the commercial team during setup.

Who approves the commercial offer?

An independent Pricing Reviewer decides the current quote revision through the guarded review action. The decision records its source revision, reason and reviewer. Quote Specialist prepares the request and responds to questions or returned work.

Does completing a configuration change the quote price?

Configuration completion leaves the quote’s commercial state and amounts unchanged. Quote Specialist prepares machine and option prices in the commercial draft and requests the pricing action for the appropriate revision.

When can customer acceptance be recorded?

Quote Specialist records acceptance of an Approved quote within its validity period. The guarded action checks the approved revision and expiry, moves the quote to Accepted and records the acceptance date.

How does the accepted quote reach our order system?

Set up the downstream order connection during implementation. The handoff uses a stable operation key for the accepted quote revision and records the real result in a receipt. Without an available connection, the receipt remains Pending.

How do we handle a customer change after acceptance?

Quote Specialist prepares an authorized compensating request for the accepted scope. Pricing Reviewer approves it independently. Keep the original quote, decisions and handoff evidence available so Auditor can follow the correction.

How does the team investigate incomplete actions?

Open Operation Receipts shows pending, failed and disputed outcomes. Reconciliation compares each claim with local quote, line and decision evidence. A supported result becomes Completed; a discrepancy is marked as needing review with a concrete explanation.

Which attachments can be shared with the customer?

Attachments carry Internal or Shared visibility. Quote Specialist checks the title, evidence type and file before release. Shared Quote Evidence helps the team inspect the material intended for the customer.
