What you can do

Decide the offer at a known revision

Pricing Reviewer receives a quote in Review after its draft lines have been priced. The decision addresses the quote’s current revision and validity date. The reviewer examines the customer, selling organization, line economics and supporting evidence before authorizing release. Quote Specialist remains responsible for explaining the commercial request.

The review action records an Approve, Reject or Return decision with its reason, decision date and reviewer. The decision also carries the source revision and operation key. Those references let the team connect the commercial outcome to the offer that was reviewed. A later request must satisfy the same independence, scope and revision checks before it can change the quote’s state.

How the work is organized

  • Independent authority. Pricing Reviewer supplies the commercial decision through the guarded action. The person preparing the quote cannot provide the independent decision on their own request. App Administrator maintains access and membership but does not gain commercial approval authority by maintaining those records.
  • Current evidence. Review includes the priced line values, quote net USD amount, recorded price book revision and validity date. The reviewer reads the relevant attachments before deciding. Quote Specialist should resolve questions about a machine option or customer instruction before asking for approval of that offer.
  • Recorded outcomes. Approval moves the reviewed quote into Approved, while rejection moves it into Rejected. Return records the reason for further work through the authorized correction path. Preserve the decision history so the next reviewer can understand why the earlier request did not proceed.

What to agree during setup

Agree which users can act as Pricing Reviewer for each selling organization and how independence is checked. Define the evidence needed for a price decision and who answers a returned request. Confirm the operational meaning of the validity date so customer acceptance uses the same time interpretation as review.

Rehearse permission boundaries with App Administrator. The specialist should be able to prepare authorized drafts, while the reviewer uses the decision action without unrestricted editing of the quote. Auditor should be able to trace the recorded outcome without changing it.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Take the rehearsal quote totaling USD 98,000 and place it in Review. Pricing Reviewer inspects the machine lines and supporting configuration information, then approves the current commercial revision with a reason. Confirm that the quote becomes Approved and the decision refers to that revision.

Next, try to decide the same offer as its preparer. The action must reject the independence failure. Repeat with an older expected revision and with a quote beyond its validity date. Inspect the outcome evidence after each request. None of those rejected requests should authorize customer acceptance of an invalid commercial offer.
