How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure CPQ for Solar & Renewable Energy for your business. Start with a selling organization, an eligible customer and a familiar solar proposal. Rehearse the site input, quote calculation, independent review and accepted handoff with the people who will run them.

What solar design information can the team record?

The design input keeps the site address, required-by date, panel count and design capacity with its quote and organization. It carries a status and revision so the team can identify the scope under review. Supporting files belong with the quote.

How are line amounts calculated?

Each USD net line amount equals quantity multiplied by unit price, less the USD line discount. The quote’s net amount is the sum of those priced lines. The pricing action checks the expected quote and price-book revisions before committing the calculation.

Who approves the commercial quote?

Pricing Reviewer independently approves, rejects or returns the current quote revision and records a reason. The review action checks independence and revision validity. Administrative maintenance does not give App Administrator business approval authority.

What happens when the quote changes during review?

The expected revision check prevents an older request from authorizing a changed proposal. Quote Specialist follows the agreed correction procedure and presents the current scope for pricing and review before the team relies on a new approval.

How is customer acceptance recorded?

Quote Specialist confirms the customer’s decision and submits acceptance for the approved revision. The action checks expiry and the expected revision before recording Accepted and the acceptance time. Keep the supporting customer evidence with the quote.

Does design approval change the quote price?

Set up the design input’s review and completion procedure during configuration. Keep the parent quote’s amount and commercial state unchanged by design approval. Send intended commercial changes through the quote pricing and approval process.

What is needed for an order handoff?

Configure the downstream receiving connection and agree how the accepted quote and lines map to it. The operation receipt retains the real external reference. Without that connection, the handoff remains Pending until an actual receiving outcome can be established.

How do we correct accepted scope?

Use the authorized correction procedure. Executed Accepted scope requires a reviewer-approved compensating action that retains the original evidence. Rehearse the business and downstream effects before handling a live customer change.

What should we verify before live use?

Check organization boundaries, owner-to-user mapping and independent review with the real accounts. Test stale revisions, expired acceptance and repeated handoffs. Reconcile the accepted quote with its decision evidence and the actual receiving-system reference.
