Keys and references

Use existing identifiers when connecting records. Accounts.Code, Products.SKU and Opportunities.record number give the team recognizable business references. An order reference on a retention record remains a text reference to the customer’s order process.

Keep opportunity lines.Opportunity distinct from the parent opportunity field used on activity and evidence records. Record attachments uses reference URL, captured at, Kind and Notes to describe supporting material. A Kind of Signature identifies the evidence category.

Review decisions.source revision must identify the record revision actually considered. Keep its retention follow up link populated for a retention decision, along with parent opportunity. Preserve the receipt’s operation key and actual operation type when inspecting a result. Team members.Email and Organization are operating identity information; agree the signed-in identity mapping during setup.

Migration order

  1. Prepare Organizations, Users and team members, preserving organization scope and the existing Users.User relationship.
  2. Import Accounts and Contacts, resolving each contact’s Account and Organization references.
  3. Prepare Products with their SKU and organization, then Opportunities with Owner, Counterparty and the intended primary contact.
  4. Load opportunity lines and relationship activities with their actual opportunity references and any assigned activity owner.
  5. Add retention follow ups and genuine historical review decisions, record attachments and operation receipts. Preserve original decision revisions and dates rather than manufacturing past approval evidence.
