What you can do

Explain the result before requesting another action

An operation receipt records the requested action, expected revision and result state under the opportunity. Pending, Failed and needs-review outcomes give the team different starting points for investigation. The failure reason and effect references help Sales Manager compare the recorded claim with what actually persisted.

Reconciliation reads the linked local evidence before changing a receipt’s result. A genuine match between the declared revision and the effect supports Completed. A real discrepancy is recorded for review with an explanation. The check must not repeat the commercial action simply to create the result an earlier receipt claimed.

Corrections also distinguish unexecuted scope from executed business. Relationship Owner supplies a reason and the current revision. Unexecuted scope can be cancelled without deleting the record; executed scope requires a reviewer-approved compensating action. That action remains Pending until the relevant downstream confirmation arrives.

How the work is organized

  • Receipt investigation. Sales Manager checks the action, revision and linked effect. Relationship Owner can read the recorded result for assigned work and provide the commercial context.
  • Controlled correction. The correction action verifies the actor against live team membership and requires a reason. Sales Manager approves compensation when the scope has already been executed.
  • Evidence reconciliation. The reconciler compares local effects with the receipt claim and retains a summary under the parent opportunity. It respects authorized scope when checking outstanding results.

What to agree during setup

Agree who investigates each type of exception and what a useful failure explanation contains. The next person should be able to identify the action and affected opportunity without guessing which customer conversation is involved. Keep the original operation identity available when investigating a repeated request.

Define the downstream confirmation needed for a compensating action. Name the external party or system responsible for that response and rehearse the handoff. A requested correction is still waiting work until the required confirmation exists. Preserve the earlier proposal, visit and customer-outcome evidence so the reason for the correction remains understandable.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Start with a receipt whose completion claim does not match its linked opportunity revision. Sales Manager runs the read-first reconciliation and inspects the discrepancy. The result should explain why the claim cannot be accepted, without creating another visit completion or customer outcome to make it appear correct.

Next, request a correction to executed scope. Relationship Owner supplies the reason and Sales Manager reviews the compensation. Inspect the Pending result before downstream confirmation and the evidence after confirmation. The earlier executed history must remain visible throughout the case.

Finally, repeat the same authorized correction or reconciliation request. Its operation identity should preserve the original result and prevent duplicate effects. Auditor should be able to explain the outcome from retained records without needing edit permission or access outside the authorized organization.
