Proposal and outcome review

Review the exact proposal revision and preserve the evidence behind the customer's final outcome.

Step by step

  1. Prepare proposal evidence Relationship Owner

Relationship Owner records the proposal scope and next activity under the current opportunity. Attach the supporting material with the appropriate visibility so the reviewer can understand what is being proposed.

    • Prepare scope and next activity for the current Revision
    • Updates Opportunities, Relationship activities, Record attachments
  2. Review proposal Sales Manager

Sales Manager independently reviews the eligible submission. The guarded action locks the revision, records the decision and advances the opportunity to Proposal with an idempotent receipt.

    • Record independent review and advance to Proposal
    • Updates Opportunities, Review decisions, Operation receipts
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.
  3. Record negotiation Relationship Owner

Relationship Owner records evidence that negotiation has actually started. Only that event supports movement into Negotiation; proposal submission alone does not establish it.

    • Use Negotiation only when the event actually started
    • Updates Opportunities, Relationship activities
  4. Review outcome Sales Manager

Relationship Owner submits verified acceptance or loss evidence. Sales Manager independently verifies the exact revision before authorizing Won with its date or Lost with a reason.

    • Record won at or loss reason after eligible independent review
    • Updates Opportunities, Review decisions, Operation receipts
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.
  5. Inspect retained history Auditor

Auditor reads the resulting opportunity, review decision and receipt. The earlier expected value and activity evidence remain available to explain how the customer outcome was reached.

    • Inspect preserved expected value USD and activity evidence
    • Updates Opportunities, Relationship activities, Review decisions, Operation receipts

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Different revision reviewed. A later edit cannot inherit a decision made on an earlier commercial scope.
  • Owner supplies their own approval. The outcome needs an eligible independent reviewer.
  • History rewritten on close. Closing the opportunity must preserve the prior expected value and the activity that supported the decision.
