What you can do
Keep the buying conversation attached
A lead holds the company, contact, source, status and owner before the team confirms a sales opportunity. Sales Rep can record calls, emails, meetings and tasks as activities with due dates and outcomes. Once the pursuit is qualified, the opportunity holds the subscriber, primary contact, amount, probability, expected close date and next step. The team can follow the conversation without creating a fresh customer each time the buyer returns.
The opportunity has stages for qualification, discovery, proposal, negotiation and final outcomes. Sales Manager can use the open opportunity list to ask which offers need a decision and whether an expected close date still makes sense. A quote can price a proposed selection before the customer accepts commercial terms.
How the work is organized
- Inquiry ownership. Give each lead a named owner and a due activity so a response can be followed up.
- Opportunity context. Link the pursuit to its subscriber and main contact, then keep the amount and expected date current.
- Offer review. Use a quote to keep the priced offer connected to the opportunity and subscriber.
What to agree during setup
Decide when an inquiry becomes qualified, how existing subscribers are matched, and who may update the expected close date. Agree what evidence Sales Manager needs before a quote moves from submitted to approved. A team with several product families should settle whether an offer covers a single box selection or a longer subscription commitment. Keep the distinction consistent when creating the later contract.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A buyer asks about a recurring wellness selection. Sales Rep records the inquiry and a call activity, then locates the subscriber and contact. The rep opens an opportunity with an expected close date and a next step to confirm products. A priced quote names the same subscriber. When the buyer accepts the terms, Subscription Manager can set up the contract with the accepted product and billing frequency. The sales record remains useful when that customer later asks why the product selection changed.
The manager should be able to distinguish an offer still in negotiation from a closed sale. If a deal is lost, record the outcome on the opportunity rather than leaving an open forecast amount indefinitely.
