How do I get started?
Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Cross-dock Management for your business. Start with a familiar load, recognizable staging locations and a reconciled stock lot. Have the clerk and supervisor rehearse a request decision, reservation and verified posting alongside the physical dock records.
What load details can the team record?
Record the load number, carrier, dock door, seal, arrival date and current state. Sequenced stops add the location, appointment date and stop state for coordinating expected, arrived or missed work.
How are staged units identified?
Each unit carries a license plate, item, quantity, location and custody owner. The current handling state shows whether it is available, moving, staged, loaded, held or damaged according to the team’s observations.
Who approves stock work?
Inventory Supervisor records the request decision with a reason and source revision. Eligible approved scope proceeds to execution. Rejected, returned or escalated work needs the appropriate follow-up before it continues.
How does channel policy help the supervisor?
Allocation policy records the channel, priority, safety stock guidance and effective date. The supervisor uses the agreed rule when reviewing competing requests and retains the actual decision reason on the request.
How much stock can a request reserve?
The reservation action checks eligible lot quantity less active Held reservations. A request exceeding that free amount is refused with a failed receipt showing the shortfall.
What changes the inventory balance?
Executing an approved request posts a signed movement and applies it to the lot balance. The request becomes Executed and a recorded receipt identifies the action. Load and unit status updates provide physical context for that work.
What happens if the clerk repeats a posting?
The posting uses a stable source effect identity derived from the request. Repeating the same action must return the saved effect without applying the stock quantity again. Inspect its movement and receipt when a response is uncertain.
Can a posted stock effect be reversed?
Inventory Supervisor creates a compensating movement through the reversal action. The compensation links to the original movement and corrects the lot balance while retaining the original evidence. A repeated reversal returns the existing compensation.
What does a failed verification mean?
The posted movement total did not match the authorized request quantity. Reconciliation writes a failed receipt and leaves the request unchanged so the supervisor can investigate the discrepancy and use the supported correction procedure.
