Connections for dock operations

Agree the exchange of load plans, unit identifiers and stock evidence with the systems responsible for them.

  • Cross-dock Management
  • Transport and carrier systems
  • Order and demand systems
  • Scanning devices
  • Document and quality systems
  • Financial systems

Systems to connect

  • Transport and carrier systems. Agree how load numbers, appointment information and carrier details enter the dock records. If automated inbound-to-outbound assignment is required, define it with the system responsible for that planning and verify its resulting record links.
  • Order and demand systems. Supply the context that explains a stock request’s item and base-unit quantity. Keep the operating instruction or manifest accessible through the request’s supporting documents.
  • Scanning devices. Configure any scanner connection to the correct item, location and unit identity. Rehearse a repeated scan and uncertain response before allowing device actions to request stock effects.
  • Document and quality systems. Link the inspection evidence, certificates or manifests used in the review. Keep access to those documents aligned with the operating organization’s permissions.
  • Financial systems. Agree the exchange of verified movement evidence and its cost basis separately. Preserve the source effect identity when another system consumes a posting.

How connections are governed

Name an owner for each connection and define its permitted actions. Use the supported stock workflows for reservation, posting and reversal so repeated messages can find existing results. Verify quantity units and location meanings with a pilot request before allowing automated traffic.

Inspect failure receipts and preserve the original evidence when correcting an operation. A connected system’s response must establish what it actually saved. Keep physical load progress, stock quantity effects and downstream acknowledgment understandable as separate observations in the operating procedure.
