What you can do
Run the work
Discount rules defines offer type, scope, dates, minimums and usage limits. Applied discounts shows the amount actually associated with a booking or line. Store sessions captures visit source and device; abandoned carts and wishlists help Marketing Manager understand interest that did not become an immediate booking.
How the work is organized
- Set offer rules. Marketing Manager maintains discount dates, scope, minimums and usage limits.
- Check actual use. Applied discounts show which booking or line received a discount amount.
- Trace interest. Store sessions, carts and abandoned carts let Marketing Manager distinguish a visit from an order.
For a campaign, Marketing Manager can compare store visits by source with abandoned carts and bookings in the same operating period. A discount code may be Active, but the applied discount record is the evidence that an order used it. A shopper’s abandoned basket can be reviewed by recovery stage, while an email evidence row records its local status for follow-up.
What to agree during setup
Agree who may activate promotions and how codes can combine. Check that campaign sources and catalog currencies are consistent before comparing performance. Email delivery relies on the selected provider and its actual response; an emails sent record is a status trail, not a promise that the shopper opened a message.
A pilot should use a real product range, one supported market, a shipping method and a representative order. Confirm which person owns each state change. Review the information that will arrive from payment, carrier and messaging services, and decide how the team will reconcile a delayed or failed response. Keep the customer’s original transaction visible when correcting a later event.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Start with a customer selecting a shippable variant. Compare the item quantity and price in the cart with the resulting booking line. Confirm the delivery address and shipping method. Then follow payment evidence, shipment status and any service request in sequence. If an exception arises, the next person should be able to see the affected booking and the reason for the handoff without guessing from a single overall status.
This exercise also tests access. Marketing Manager should be able to work the records in this module. A colleague with read-only responsibility should be able to inspect the relevant result without gaining permission to change payment or fulfillment evidence. Rehearse an incorrect address and a failed payment result so the team knows how to stop and correct the case.
What your team sees
- Active promotions — Discount rules whose status is Active and whose dates need review.
- Store visits — Sessions marked as not converted, grouped by source and device.
