- GST Return Preparation — India
- Who it's for
- Treasury teams
Treasury teams
A treasury team can start with one organization and a small set of active provider accounts. A preparer owns the instruction, while a separate reviewer checks authorization and evidence. Keep the provider identifier with the instruction so the team can find a submission when the provider response arrives.
How GST Return Preparation — India is set up for you
Instruction identity
Give the work a record number, a named owner and an organization before asking someone else to act.
Independent decision
Keep the reviewer and the source revision with the reason for approval, rejection or return.
Provider evidence
Preserve the external reference, event identity and occurrence date that explain the actual result.
A treasury team can start with one organization and a small set of active provider accounts. A preparer owns the instruction, while a separate reviewer checks authorization and evidence. Keep the provider identifier with the instruction so the team can find a submission when the provider response arrives.
For a movement to a settlement counterparty, record the counterparty and account before review. Link the debit and credit entries, then compare the provider confirmation against the submitted amount and date. An instruction stays pending while the provider effect is uncertain.
The first cycle should use an active counterparty and an account whose external identifier is known. Give the preparer and reviewer separate access, and let an Auditor follow the completed case without editing it. Compare the instruction amount with the supporting journal entries before submission. When the provider reports a movement, compare its exact amount and occurrence date with the confirmed instruction. Keep any difference in the open work list for investigation.
Agree where provider balances and exchange rates come from, how often they are refreshed and who checks exceptions. Bring forward source IDs during migration; a copied balance without its snapshot identity is hard to reconcile later. An App Administrator can maintain organization membership and counterparty details while the financial decision remains with the Accounting Reviewer. Use [implementation](/design-gst-return-preparation-india/implementation) to plan the pilot and [roles](/design-gst-return-preparation-india/roles) to test access.
