Keys and references

Use patient number to reconcile an incoming patient with the existing register. The patient link on an encounter identifies the visit owner; the clinician link identifies who conducts it. Notes, observations and charges point to the encounter. Tasks, consents and payments point to the patient. People links staff records to Users. Preserve the original dates and status when migrating existing work.

Migration order

  1. Load Users and People, then verify clinician links and active staff.
  2. Load Patients and check patient numbers and assigned clinicians.
  3. Load care team assignments, clinical privileges and Consents with their effective or signed dates.
  4. Load Encounters, then clinical notes, Observations, meal plans, meal plan items and Charges against the right visit.
  5. Load care tasks and Payments against the patient, then reconcile open work and receipts.
