Contract teams
A contract team may work from a familiar template while negotiating a specific matter. A template name helps staff find a starting point, but the review decision belongs to an identified version. The Matter Coordinator prepares that version and the Supervising Attorney decides whether its submitted revision is acceptable for use.

A contract team may work from a familiar template while negotiating a specific matter. A template name helps staff find a starting point, but the review decision belongs to an identified version. The Matter Coordinator prepares that version and the Supervising Attorney decides whether its submitted revision is acceptable for use.
Choose one engagement letter that the team uses often. Prepare a draft version, submit it and have the attorney reject the submitted version. The coordinator makes a corrected revision and submits it for a new decision. Check that the approved version is the one subsequently selected for work.
Pair the template exercise with a matter document. Record its revision and content hash, then conduct privilege review before considering any external use. If a signing service will receive the approved version, decide how its acceptance record will be brought back to the matter. The template state alone should not be read as an external signature receipt.
This sequence lets the team answer which text was approved and why a previous version was rejected. It also gives new staff a practical way to distinguish a working draft from an approved source. Keep the rejected and corrected versions visible to authorized reviewers. Compare their version numbers and revisions before selecting either one for a matter.
