Systems to connect
- File storage. Decide where attached matter documents and supporting evidence are stored and who can open them.
- Signing service. If a signed document is part of the team’s process, bind that service’s request and receipt to the approved version and matter.
- Delivery service. If a document is sent outside the application, retain its recipient and acceptance reference alongside the production record.
- Court or filing service. Reconcile filing confirmation with the relevant matter event and deadline receipt.
How connections are governed
The organization chooses the service and access model. Before using a connection, decide how an external reference maps to the matter, exact document revision and operation key. If an outcome is uncertain, inspect the original receipt and external state before retrying. Only a verified external acknowledgement should complete a step that depends on another service.
