Load to dispatch

Check the load commitment, driver and vehicle before recording dispatch.

Step by step

  1. Prepare the load Dispatcher

Dispatcher records the subject, owner, operating organization and transport partner. Keep the original promised delivery time visible from the start. The load begins as Draft. Creating it records the planning receipt and moves it to Planned; Dispatcher still checks whether the movement can be served.

    • Establish ownership and promise; retain the creation-triggered plan outcome
    • Updates Loads, Organizations, Team members, Transport partners, Operation receipts
  2. Check the operating references Dispatcher

Dispatcher examines driver eligibility and the selected vehicle's active state and readiness. App Administrator resolves incorrect roster information. Inspect defect repair evidence when the proposed vehicle has a reported condition requiring attention.

    • Inspect eligibility and readiness evidence
    • Updates Drivers, Vehicles, Vehicle defects
  3. Confirm a feasible assignment Dispatcher

Dispatcher compares the driver's and vehicle's existing commitments with the requested start and end times. Resolve overlaps and confirm feasibility before dispatch. Inspect the planning receipt from load creation; Planned alone does not establish feasibility.

    • Check the existing plan receipt and confirm a feasible commitment
    • Updates Load assignments, Loads, Operation receipts
  4. Record physical pickup Dispatcher

Dispatcher records the actual pickup and executes the dispatch action. The load becomes Dispatched with its receipt attached to the operation history. Preserve the promised delivery time for the later comparison with observed delivery.

    • Record pickup and the dispatch outcome
    • Updates Loads, Load assignments, Operation receipts

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • A changed promise hides the delay. Preserve the accepted delivery time when the actual pickup is later than expected. Transport Supervisor needs the original commitment to investigate the result.
  • A free driver has a busy vehicle. Check both commitments. Different driver names do not resolve a shared vehicle overlap.
  • A response is unclear. Look up the existing receipt and its operation identity before deciding what action remains necessary.
