Keys and references

Use a stable patient number to match identity before creating visits. Keep an encounter ID for every care episode and preserve source accession and payment references when importing specialty or receipt data. People records connect clinicians and staff to users. A care-team assignment refers to a patient and clinician with effective dates, while a task refers to the patient and its assignee. Keep numeric observations with units and dispensations with both quantity and unit.

Migration order

  1. Load Users and People, then Patients with stable patient numbers and assigned clinicians.
  2. Load clinical privileges, Consents and care team assignments with their status and effective dates.
  3. Load Encounters, preserving patient, clinician, visit state and timing.
  4. Load clinical notes, Observations, Specimens and pharmacy dispensations against the correct encounter.
  5. Load care tasks, Charges and Payments, then reconcile source identifiers, status totals and access with the pilot team.
