Keys and references

Import references using stable stored identities. SKU and human numbers remain useful labels, but a movement’s reference ID must resolve the actual source record expected by the action. Stock movements.lot number stores the lot label as text. Match it to Lots.lot number within the correct Product when rehearsing a trace.

Agree the sale evidence used in claim review and the connection used to confirm payout. Retain the original part and vehicle evidence when investigating the claim. Production log references Employees through Operator; People references Users. Define the authenticated actor mapping rather than equating those identities by display name.

Migration order

  1. Prepare Users, Departments and Employees; map People to the intended user identities.
  2. Load chart of accounts, accounting periods, Warehouses and Locations, then Products and Contacts.
  3. Load Suppliers and supplier items, Calendars, work centers and Shifts, then bill of materials, BOM components, Routings and routing operations. Load Instruments, inspection plans and inspection characteristics in reference order.
  4. Reconcile Inventory, Lots and Serials with opening valuation. Retain source keys for work orders or Deliveries that will be loaded later, then resolve those references before using the trace.
  5. Import vehicle fitments, sales orders, sales order lines, purchase orders and purchase order lines before planning and work orders detail. Resolve deferred lot, serial and employee references.
  6. Load open claims and invoices with their decision context, then rehearse guarded actions and reconcile opening balances before new posting.
