Multi-entity ceramics groups
A group with separate trading entities can use common product definitions while retaining entity-specific customer commitments, stock ownership, currency, bank and period evidence. A physical warehouse may hold positions for more than one entity, but each position still has its owner.
How Ceramics ERP is set up for you
Legal ownership
Attribute every customer, supplier, stock position and journal to the correct entity.
Authority
Check each approval within the actor’s entity scope and delegated limit.
Reconciliation
Close each entity from its own bank, stock and ledger evidence.
A group with separate trading entities can use common product definitions while retaining entity-specific customer commitments, stock ownership, currency, bank and period evidence. A physical warehouse may hold positions for more than one entity, but each position still has its owner.
Pilot one entity first, then rehearse the same product at a second entity with distinct stock and currency. Confirm a user cannot release work outside assigned scope. Reconcile each book separately before comparing group results.
At a shared warehouse, have the Warehouse Manager inspect the entity on each stock position before reserving or transferring it. The Finance Manager should then review each entity's invoice, bank and period evidence separately. A physical location does not change ownership or combine the books.
Bring a real purchase or order with its original source identifiers and decision owner. Prepare the product unit, customer or supplier trading details, opening stock and financial basis that case needs. Make the first exception part of the rehearsal: a short receipt, partial delivery or disputed amount will show whether the handoffs are clear.
Review the relevant [modules](/erp-for-ceramics/data-model) with operations and finance together. Agree on who may prepare a record, who makes the independent decision and which evidence is needed before an actual movement or posting. A staged rollout can add more locations and entities after the first cycle reconciles.
