Multi-warehouse distributors
A distributor serving dealers from more than one warehouse needs one answer to where each lot is, who owns it and how much can be promised. Warehouse and location records organize physical custody. Inventory positions retain entity, product, lot and custody state, while reservations identify quantities already committed to a customer or work order.
How Cosmetics ERP is set up for you
Warehouse scope
Define which entities can hold goods at each physical site and who manages it.
Transfers
Authorize a source and destination, then track dispatch and the exact in-transit remainder.
Counting
Lock a defined scope, take a blind count and review variances before adjustment.
Order fulfillment
Allocate only free available quantity to a dealer line, even when another warehouse holds the same product.
A distributor serving dealers from more than one warehouse needs one answer to where each lot is, who owns it and how much can be promised. Warehouse and location records organize physical custody. Inventory positions retain entity, product, lot and custody state, while reservations identify quantities already committed to a customer or work order.
Begin with two warehouses and one lot-controlled product. Receive stock into the first location and reserve part of it for an approved dealer order. Prepare a transfer for a different portion, obtain Warehouse Manager approval and record the dispatch. At the destination, receive only the quantity actually moved. Check that the available balance changes in each place while the entity-owned total remains consistent.
Plan a count of one location after transfer receipt. Give Warehouse Operator a blind count task, compare the observed base quantity with the fixed snapshot and ask for a recount where appropriate. Material value differences should reach Finance Manager before a stock adjustment posts.
Set the rules for held and picked custody, lot capture and duplicate events before broad use. The team should rehearse an interrupted transfer and a retry of its receipt. The original source and stock event should make it clear what was already processed.
