Inventory setup and transfer approval

Confirm the item unit and both facilities before approving a warehouse transfer quantity.

Step by step

  1. Establish the item Admin

Admin checks the inventory item's SKU, unit and active setting. Resolve duplicate identities or unit differences before preparing a transfer.

    • Confirm item identity and unit
    • Updates Inventory items
  2. Confirm the facilities Admin

Admin identifies the source and destination warehouse by their codes and cities. Check that both facilities are appropriate for the intended operating work.

    • Establish source and destination
    • Updates Warehouses
  3. Prepare the instruction Admin

Admin records the transfer name, item, quantity and required date in Draft, with the correct source and destination references.

    • Record Draft transfer
    • Updates Stock transfers, Inventory items, Warehouses
  4. Approve the scope Admin

Admin reviews the intended quantity and facility handoff, then approves eligible Draft work. Approved becomes the prerequisite for posting the transfer effects.

    • Draft to Approved
    • Updates Stock transfers
ApprovalA person approves before the work moves on.

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • Same item described in different units. The quantity must retain its meaning at the source and destination. Resolve conversion through the agreed setup before approval.
  • Wrong warehouse reference. Similar facility names make code and city checks useful. Inspect the stored source and destination before posting.
  • Required date treated as authorization. A transfer needing attention still requires the approval handoff before its posting action.
